By continuing to use our website, you agree to the use of cookies in accordance with this policy, to the extent that they are not strictly necessary for the functioning of the website.
1. WHAT ARE COOKIES
A "Cookie" (also known as a "browser cookie," "HTTP cookie," or "Internet cookie") is a small file consisting of letters and numbers that will be stored on your computer, mobile device, or other equipment from which you access the Internet. A cookie is installed by a request sent by a web server to a browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome) and, despite being stored on the device (computer, mobile device, etc.) used to access web pages, it cannot access other information on that device and cannot contain software, viruses, or spyware.
The cookie stores important information that improves the Internet browsing experience (e.g., language settings for accessing a website; keeping a user logged into their webmail account; keeping products in the shopping cart); it makes it possible to recognize the user's terminal and present them with content tailored to their preferences.
Important: Cookies CANNOT access personal files on your device, CANNOT install programs, and CANNOT run code.
In most cases, cookies do not process personal data when used and do not identify users of websites. A cookie consists of two parts: the name and the content or value of the cookie.
Cookies ensure a pleasant browsing experience for the user and support ORMO's efforts to provide user-friendly services. Cookies are used to compile anonymous aggregate statistics that help us understand how users benefit from our web pages, allowing us to improve their structure and content.
2. LEGAL BASIS AND APPLICABLE REGULATIONS
The use of cookies in Romania and in the European Union is regulated by:
- Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data (GDPR);
- Directive 2002/58/EC concerning privacy and electronic communications, as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC;
- Romanian Law No. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector.
In accordance with these regulations, we may store cookies on your device only if they are strictly necessary for the functioning of the website. For all other types of cookies (analytical, advertising, personalization, etc.), your explicit consent is required.
3. WHAT ARE THE MAIN CATEGORIES OF COOKIES?
3.1. In terms of their duration, there are two categories of cookies:
Session cookies: these are temporarily stored in the cookie folder of the web browser so that it can remember them until the user leaves the website or closes the browser window;
Persistent cookies: These types of cookies are stored on the hard drive of the device used to access a website and are not deleted when the browsing session is closed. They are retained and reused each time the user returns to that website, but can be manually deleted by the user at any time, and have predefined validity periods.
3.2. From the point of view of the operator placing the cookies, there are:
- first-party cookies - placed by the owner of the website visited;
- third-party cookies (cookies placed by third parties) - placed by the operator of a website other than the one visited. These third parties must also comply with the applicable law and privacy policies of the owner of the website on which they place cookies, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive. For those who wish to learn more about the subject, there are detailed resources (see links below) that describe all known types of cookies, how they work, and the purposes for which they are used.
3.3. In terms of the purposes for which cookies are placed, there are generally the following categories of cookies: strictly necessary, measurement, for analyzing and improving website performance, and promotional (targeting and advertising).
4. TYPES OF COOKIES WE USE
On the Website or Websites owned by ORMO, we use the following types of Cookies:
1. Strictly necessary cookies.
These ensure the basic functionality of the website:
- loading pages without errors;
- securing contact forms;
- keeping the session active;
- preventing fraud attempts or cyber attacks.
These cookies do not collect information about you for marketing purposes and cannot be disabled from our systems. These types of cookies are exempt from the rule of obtaining consent for their placement.
2. Performance and analytics cookies.
They provide us with anonymous data about how visitors interact with the site:
- number of visits and pages accessed;
- time spent on the site;
- any errors encountered;
- traffic source (search, direct link, social networks).
All the information collected by these cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous.
Common tools: Google Analytics, Matomo. The data collected is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
3. Functionality cookies.
These allow us to remember your choices, to provide you with improved functionality and to personalize your experience on the site:
- saving your language and currency (where applicable);
- saving preferences for displaying products;
- remembering partially completed forms so you don't have to re-enter data.
If you don't allow these cookies, some services may not work properly.
4. Marketing and advertising cookies.
These cookies are set on the site based on agreements we have with our advertising partners (e.g., social media pages, Google, etc.). With the help of these cookies, we and our partners can observe and analyze the types of products on websites that a particular visitor has shown interest in, and on a subsequent visit we will display advertising based on the product they have shown interest in. These cookies:
- Can be placed by us or by third-party partners (e.g., social networks, advertising platforms).
- Help display relevant promotional content based on your interests. Avoid repetitive display of the same ads.
- Examples: Facebook Pixel cookies, Google Ads. Instagram Ads.
5. Third-party cookies.
Some features of the website may use third-party cookies, such as:
- Google Analytics – for statistical analysis of traffic;
- YouTube – for displaying video content;
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) – for integrating posts and share buttons;
- Interactive map services (e.g. Google Maps for dealer locations);
These third parties may collect data about your online activity in accordance with their own privacy policies, over which ORMO Europe SRL has no control.
5. HOW YOU CAN CONTROL AND DELETE COOKIES
You have several options for controlling how cookies are used when you browse www.ormo-camper.com:
1. Consent banner
- When you first visit the site, you will see a banner asking for your consent to use non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising, personalization).
- You can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customize your choice by selecting only certain categories.
- Your preferences will be saved and you can change them later by accessing the "Cookie settings" section in the footer of the website.
2. Browser settings
- Most modern browsers allow you to block, delete, or limit cookies at any time.
- The steps may vary depending on the browser, but the options are usually found in the "Settings" / "Advanced Settings" / "Privacy and Security" section (see: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari (macOS and iOS), Microsoft Edge, Opera).
3. Selective deactivation
- Instead of blocking all cookies, you can choose only certain categories that you do not want to use (e.g., marketing cookies, but keep analytics cookies).
- This setting can be done either directly from the website banner or from dedicated browser extensions such as Cookie AutoDelete or EditThisCookie.
Important note: Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent basic elements of the website from functioning (contact forms, saving preferences, logging into your account, etc.). For an optimal experience on www.ormo-camper.com, we recommend that you keep at least the essential cookies enabled.
6. COOKIE STORAGE DURATION
- Session cookies – these are temporary and are automatically deleted when you close your browser window or application;
- Persistent cookies – remain stored on your device for a specified period of time, which can vary from a few days to several years, depending on the purpose for which they were created. For example, a persistent cookie may save your language preferences for 6 months;
- Limiting the storage period – Information collected through cookies will not be stored for longer than is necessary for the purposes stated in this policy. After the expiry period, cookies are automatically deleted or invalidated, and the associated data is either anonymized or completely deleted from our systems and those of our partners.
Helpful tip: If you want to control the data stored on your device more strictly, you can set your browser to automatically delete persistent cookies after a shorter period of time or to delete them every time you close your session.
7. SECURITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Protecting your data is a priority for ORMO. With regard to cookies, we take technical and organizational measures to ensure that they are used under conditions of maximum security:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) – All pages on our website use the HTTPS protocol, which means that the information transmitted between the browser and the server is encrypted and cannot be read by unauthorized third parties;
- Continuous monitoring of vulnerabilities – We have automated systems and regular checks in place to identify and correct any security issues;
- Personal data protection – We do not combine the data collected through cookies with personally identifiable information (such as name, email address, phone number) unless we have your explicit consent.
Tips for safe and secure browsing:
- Update your browser regularly: New versions include security fixes that prevent known vulnerabilities from being exploited.
- Use secure connections: Avoid accessing accounts or sending sensitive data when connected to public Wi-Fi networks without encryption.
- Manage cookies carefully: Periodically delete old cookies and block those from unknown or suspicious sources.
8. UPDATES TO THE COOKIE POLICY
This Cookie Policy may be amended from time to time, and such amendments will be effective from the date of publication on this page. Updates may occur for a number of reasons:
- Compliance with legislative changes – Data protection laws and cookie regulations (including GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive) may be amended by Romanian or European Union authorities, and we will adapt our policy accordingly.
- Adapting to new technologies – If we introduce new features on the website, update the technical infrastructure, or use additional services (e.g., a new traffic analysis system), we will reflect these changes in the policy.
- Improving the user experience – Based on the feedback we receive and the evolution of user interaction with the website, we may adjust how we use cookies to ensure a more intuitive, faster, and more relevant browsing experience.
For transparency, the date of the last update will always be displayed at the beginning of the document.
Helpful tip: We recommend that you check this page periodically to stay up to date with the latest changes.
